CHAS and Dave team up for Orbital R&F

Kent and Northampton based Orbital Response and Fulfilment is one of the UK’s largest specialist response and fulfilment providers. Having gained many new business wins in the housing and construction areas they decided that having appropriate accreditation within this sector would be the route to further growth.

CHAS, the Contractors Health and Safety Assessment Scheme were deemed the most appropriate to outline to prospective clients their commitment to this sector. Dave Chatfield, Orbital R&F’s facilities manager was charged with the task of making the Company compliant.

Chas was set up in 1997 by a group of health and safety procurement professionals from across Great Britain, working with the Association of Local Government (ALG). Its twin aims are to improve health and safety standards across Great Britain and to reduce duplication of safety applications for suppliers and buyers. They have more than 400 public and private sector buyer organisations, such as councils, housing associations, NHS trusts, including a growing number of large private companies who employ sub-contractors.
